Rankin Bass day on DKUTV! Hadn’t seen this one and didn’t want to miss it. Unfortunately the version that Josef has is a rather awful taped broadcast with burned in German subtitles. Not ideal but it looks like this is the same version available on YT. Ah well. Surprised that this hasn’t gotten a decent home video release from KinoLorber. Seems right up their alley.
Not a great movie but pretty decent given the talent involved. Steven Keats returns (THE LAST DINOSAUR) and is a playboy type of conservationist. Kinda weird. He convinces old big game hunter Jack Palance to hunt the escaped ape. BUT THEY DONT WANT TO KILL IT. It’s wild. Perhaps the oddest thing is that it is set in Bermuda.
