Forgot this was a direct sequel to the tv show Wu Assassins so I probably should’ve watched the show before this. Whoops! Not sure why they made a movie but sure okay. This is like two episodes mashed together but faster paced. It’s relentless.
The story is gobbledygook mystic superpower fate of the world nonsense. The movie is fine and dopey and whatever but it’s brings high energy which is what I needed to stay awake. Shit, Iko Uwais versus Juju Chan… twice?! Fuck yeah I’m here for that. Plus I dig the international cast and on location filming in Bangkok. Dumb movie but exactly what I needed.
Another thing I enjoyed was how much it reminded me of Uncharted (the game) where you’re just killing dudes in your way. So many baddies get wasted by this crew without a thought. It’s amazing.
