Multi-Hand Chick asks Crazy Frog for protection after stealing someone’s wallet at the casino. Foolishly he accepts, and even more foolishly he follows her home and removes his Invincible Armor when she pretends to be willing to sleep with him. Of course she steals it, and when he tries to follow her, he’s stopped by Dirty Tiger who is on a mission to bring Crazy Frog back to his wife. However, Dirty Tiger would really like to have that armor himself…

A little pre-gaming for our Sammo Hung movie night coming up. This was a title that programmed for the DKUTV Year of the Tiger weekend so I had earmarked it then bc I saw it was available on Tubi. Tubi actually has the burned in subtitled version w/a mostly okay transfer (watchable on my TV but would probably be better on a laptop/iPad).
Giving this a soft 6 out of 10 primarily for the final fight between Bruce Lau and Sammo, which is worth sitting thru the prior 3/4 of the movie. The movie is very screwball comedy and too slapstick for my tastes even for HK action comedies. There is a solid story in this with the invincible armor and whatnot but how it’s executed on screen isn’t so great despite the solid cast. That said, if there was a really nice restored version loaded with extras I’d probably get it just to have another early Sammo flick.
What’s amusing is that he’s still called “Fatty” in this but man he is not fat at all. He’s thick but probably the most svelte of his career.
