Viewing Notes

Finishing up the last of the Philo Vance flicks. Yet another actor in the Vance role: Edmund Lowe. I believe each film has a different actor portraying the detective so now I believe that was the intent all along. Interesting!

“Where there’s smoke there’s Philo!” is the best line in the series. Always enjoy seeing Nat Pendleton as a lunkhead police sergeant. Figured I’d seen him in at least two dozen flicks by this point but nope! He’s just a memorable presence.

The streets of NYC scenes are very convincing. Nice when they are super crowded and suffocating like this.
