Viewing Notes

DVD looks awful. Seems that any big fantasy flick with heavy CGI just won’t have decent PQ on DVD. Thinking of the Detective Dee flicks.

P disappointing overall esp. towards the end when it turns into CGI soup. The premise reminds me a lot of 90s HK fantasy flicks like GREEN SNAKE (in fact, this is sorta a remake of that) but the CG FX are not great and the screenplay is not great. I do love Charlene Choi but she’s wasted here. I may give it another viewing via Prime since it’s playing there now and I wanna see if the transfer is better than the DVD I own.
