Viewing Notes

Amusing that Bogart built a career around portraying the same character over and over yet was able to alternate between ‘good’ bad guy and ‘bad’ bad guy as he is here. His character is fascinated by Napoleon and wants a book written about himself. Kay Francis is the doctor seeking him bc she wants to clear her reputation as the wife of the doctor that was involved w/the mob. It’s a p good story with solid characters that runs a little over an hour. It can be done!
