Overview

A deaf garbage collector happens upon a broken and discarded surfboard. The discovery plants in him dreams of becoming a surf champion. Encouraged by his also deaf girlfriend, he persists against all odds.

Another good Sunday matinee film. Really respect Kitano for making this movie between Boiling Point and Sonatine. Such a quiet and poignant film about pursuing a hobby in the face of adversity.

This was one of the Blu-ray in my terracotta order part of the Kitano 4 for £20 sale.
