Project A-Ko 2: Plot of the Daitokuji Financial Group (1987)

Directed by Yuji Moriyama

Comedy | Action | Science Fiction

Overview

Three weeks have gone by since the alien spaceship crash landed on the Graviton City spire, and since then the aliens have been hard at work converting their ship to a pleasure district, hoping to make friends with the humans!… Not.  Perpetually late and continually over-eating A-ko, spacy and cheerful C-ko, and brilliant and bold B-ko are about to enter summer break from school, and it just so happens the alien ship is open for business. When a free meal turns into a sob story about how the aliens just want to go home, will it be A-ko or B-ko who can get the ship into orbit again?

Viewing Notes

So I found the second movie on Prime (third and fourth films on Tubi) so I could go back and view that having just seen the third movie. This one is funny because it takes place shortly after the first movie 3 weeks later and the giant spaceship left by the defeated aliens has already been converted to a major hotel. THREE WEEKS LATER. You know you’re in total sci-fi fantasy land here when you see shit like this. I’m more likely to buy a teenage girl with superpowers battling her HS rival in a mech suit than I am to believe that a giant spaceship was converted to hotel in 3 weeks.
