Finally got the trilogy for cheap directly from Media Blasters. This has been a “franchise” that I’ve always been curious about bc it has such great cover / poster art. Of course that’s easily the best thing (some might say, the only good thing) about the movies. Look, I know these aren’t good movies but they’re the next generation of V-Cinema whatever it would be called and I like the scrappy absurdity of the stories and cheap production values. These filmmakers just wanna make provocative flicks in the same vein as the V-Cinema films that littered the mid to late nineties and early 00s.
They recruit AV actresses and softcore stars to lead the film and come up with a ridiculous premise. In one way this movie / story is a comment on toxic masculinity. The men are sex crazed fiends that the women have to fight off. There’s some fun practical FX and my favorite thing is that they shoot right on the streets in Shinjuku with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government building right there as the backdrop. Love the gonzo filmmaking.
