Viewing Notes

Long overdue revisit! Also wanted to view again bc Raimi finally has a new movie in theaters this week. So I’ve been revisiting his films. Couldn’t say when I last saw this but I was happy that Ron had the Blu so we could watch on the little big screen.

It’s so Sam Raimi that it’s comical. Super stylized with anachronistic dialogue and a stacked cast makes this one entertaining movie. Everyone here is chewing scenery taking it serious as all hell but Hackman is still acting circles around the others. He knew the assignment.

DiCaprio is so babyface here he’s almost unrecognizable to his current self. He barely looks sixteen. Sharon Stone is a pure goddess who looks fantastic in her outfits. I don’t buy the timeline with her father being killed by Hackman then she shows up 25 years later or something. Good thing it doesn’t really matter. This is just about a good time watching good actors having fun.
