Another Elvis as a race car driver comedy / musical on par with Viva Las Vegas. what makes this one fun is that Elvis is trapped between three women falling for him including his cute drummer. One thing I noticed is how Extremely White™ this movie is and guessing this was a very intentional decision by the studio. I’d love to read an essay about the deliberate white-casting of films like this.
Another upside of these films is all the beautiful (white) women they surround Elvis with during the musical numbers. It’s astounding to see the entire soundstage filled with these women as Elvis sings and navigates his way thru the crowd.
