Started this on my trip to Saskatoon and finished it on my first leg back to Denver. It’s paid VOD only rn so this was a good opportunity to view this despite the shitty conditions (poor inflight interface, PQ and audio).
Not sure if this is a sequel or prequel to THE OUTLAWS bc I don’t recall when that film is set but this one takes place in 2008. It’s been a while since I’ve seen THE OUTLAWS but I’m sure I enjoyed it more than this movie. This is a solid crime thriller with the obvious highlights of Don Lee slapping the shit outta dudes. But there’s a few plot points that are intentional fuckups by an otherwise good cop team that annoyed me. I get that the cat and mouse chase is the core story but how they keep letting this bad guy getaway is dumb. But this bad guy is one fucking evil dude so maybe he’s just that good being bad and slippery. I’d watch it again with a better presentation for sure bc there’s some wicked brutal bladed weapon action.
