Viewing Notes

I wish Jake Sully wasn’t such a shitheel of a character. I know it’s the point of the story but jesus is he annoying. Fortunately Zoe Saldana’s Neytiri is incredible and full of emotion and life that she elevates everything around her. Stephen Lang is an all time villain. Just perfect to be that level of asshole.

The Dolby 3D looked amazing. Astonishing how good this movie still looks 13 years later. Some of the Na’vi renders remain suspect but Pandora and the creatures look excellent. Despite being as obvious and simple the movie works and had me misty-eyed at those key moments (all involving Neytiri). Also forgot what a total badass Michelle Rodriguez is.

Wasn’t really hyped for the sequel but now I’m looking forward to it.
