For my Jet Li project and another long overdue revisit. Putting this in my 20 in 20 since I really should’ve viewed this then and it was due for it.
So… this is a fairly awful story between two organized crime gangs that just did nothing for me. But Aaliyah is a real deal superstar. When she’s onscreen everything is better. Jet Li is fine with a few flourishes but it’s Aaliyah that shines the most. Also I don’t know why this had to be nearly 2 hours long for this story. Had it been tighter it might have cooked with better pacing.
