Second short film in Block 3 at Dickens Horror Film Festival (and final film of this 3 film block). Produced and shot on location in the Colorado mountains featuring all very young actors on a road trip thru the mountains. It’s not clear where they were going but they do stop at a roadside diner type of place to get something to eat but sense something fishy is going on (there is!) so they leave.
Things get weird when one of the young girls needs to pee so they stop off road to let her go. Both SUVs stop while the girl heads off to find a secluded place to do her thing. As this is happening mysterious figures in all black begin appearing off in the distance. Then the story gets real crazytown.
Given the low budget and amateur young actors, this is p darn good. All the characters are believable. It is a scary situation so the reactions feel authentic; who are these creepy people and why are they attacking / chasing us?
The Q&A afterwards w/a producer and a few of the cast members was neat. The kids were clearly excited to be there and watch their film with a big crowd, who all seemed to enjoy it.
