Overview

Archaeologist Rick O’Connell travels to China, pitting him against an emperor from the 2,000-year-old Han dynasty who’s returned from the dead to pursue a quest for world domination. This time, O’Connell enlists the help of his wife and son to quash the so-called ‘Dragon Emperor’ and his abuse of supernatural power.

Wowza this is quite a movie, most of which I had completely forgotten except Jet Li being evil and the yeti, whom I love. Totally did not remember that Michelle Yeoh was in this along with Anthony Wong! Will I watch this again next year when I do my Michelle Yeoh project?

This is a weird and ridiculous movie. They replaced Rachel Weisz with Maria Bello like no big deal (which is so funny given how ppl react now to replacing lead actors in franchise films). Everything is so pulpy, which makes sense given what they doing, but the voice inflections are bizarre especially Brendan Fraser doing this deep tone like he’s reading for a radio play. Weird and distracting. Seriously the melodrama is over the top and comical.

Also, odd decision to make a big screen version of Uncharted 2. At least the Yeti are cool in this movie. Huge missed opportunity that they didn’t produce a Lego video game on this trilogy. It would’ve been amazing.
