Viewing Notes

Having recently just purchased Transporter 2 (on DVD for a buck) I almost picked this up from the thrift store but it was $4 for the DVD?!?! F that. Fortunately it’s on HBO Max so I could scratch the itch of wondering if this installment was an improvement over that dismal T2.

welp. It’s marginally better simply due to being set in Europe (shot on location in Hungary & Romania) versus Miami and having little to no digital FX to enhance the stunts. Sure, there’s probably some digital embellishment but none so obvious and poorly presented as in T2. And the story is slightly better but not much. Cory Yuen is back for action director duties (just wish he had also shot those scenes!).

What sinks this movie is the absolute shit editing (a Megaton staple) and the hamfisted romance, which I haaaaaaaaaayyyyted. Wanna torpedo the franchise? Just make the main character break his core tenets. So have a character so completely unlikeable as this daughter being used for blackmail then have the lead fall for her??? F that. Ugh.

Hilarious that my rating on IMDb was a 5 yet somehow I gave T2 a 7??? Updated that. :)
