A young girl, Chihiro, becomes trapped in a strange new world of spirits. When her parents undergo a mysterious transformation, she must call upon the courage she never knew she had to free her family. The film version of the stage production was shot during the play’s 2022 run at the Imperial Theatre in Tokyo.

Quite an achievement to adapt this movie into a stage play and still retain everything charming and fantastical. Incredible performances and spot on casting of Lin portrayed by Fu Hinami, who is also Chihiro’s mother in a brilliant move to double up roles.
Wish Fathom / GKids would bring more events like this over rather then the same lineup of Ghibli movies every year.
Holy crap I just looked this up and Mari Natsuki who did the granny (Yubaba) in the original 2001 film is the stage actor for that character in this production! She’s 70 years old and fucking crushed it again! Wow what a performer. Mad respect
