Long overdue revisit! Surprised what I still remembered despite not having seen this in 20 years. The CGI is dodgy ofc but not terrible especially given the year. Some really terrific photography and on location camera work. I did forget how involved Monica Belluci’s character is and now I wanna revisit a bunch of her earlier work again. She’s so great in this.
Mark Dascascos is still the MVP in a perfectly cast role. Didn’t realize that Gans also directed him in the Crying Freeman film / series. I want to rewatch Gans’ Beauty and the Beast which I believe also features Vincent Cassel.
