Viewing Notes

Perfect example of a not great movie that is great. A truck drives thru a billboard and there’s a huge explosion bc why not! All the white supremacy stuff is sadly still quite relevant. Would love to see this on the big screen with the right audience. Little surprised that Chicago Film Society never screened this bc they often leaned into Chicago films and/or blaxploitation (i.e. they screened Truck Turner).

Love all the Chicago scenes, ofc. Will never get tired of seeing the Marina Towers in movies. The foot chase is awesome and hilarious and super nostalgic. The Fireplace Inn is still operating in the same location in Old Town and I will absolutely visit it on my next visit to Chicago. So goddamn amusing they have a major shootout in an arcade and it’s no big deal (no police activity).

Today is Fred Williamson day for Junesploitation so an ideal choice and I’m angry I didn’t watch this sooner. He’s so funny too especially with a cigar in his mouth during the entire siege sequence at the end. If this exists on Blu-ray I need to get it and we need to watch it for movie night.
