Overview
When North Korean ruler Kim Jong-il orchestrates a global terrorist plot, it’s up to the heavily armed, highly specialized Team America unit to stop his dastardly scheme. The group, which has recruited troubled Broadway actor Gary Johnston, not only has to face off against Jong-il, but they must also contend with the Film Actors Guild, a cadre of Hollywood liberals at odds with Team America’s “policing the world” tactics.

Viewing Notes
Been watching a lot of the Gerry Anderson super marionation shows since I got a few from the Shout Factory sale. Had me itching to revisit this which I haven’t seen since theater. Still holds up in many ways and has some genuine LOL moments. So irreverent it’s great. Some stuff is kinda dumb or goofy now but this really was a cool project at the time.
Really funny to view after the Gerry Anderson shows and note the similarities. They did a very good job recreating the style of the marionettes.
