It’s always nice to find another Jackie Chan movie I haven’t seen (and there’s still a lot!) but esp. a more recent film like this one, which I’ve owned on DVD for 10+ years. Even when viewing it I thought it was older like a 1990s release based on the story, actors and look/feel (poorly aged digital FX that are even worse knowing this was a 2005 release).
This is almost like a fantastical reimagining of TWIN DRAGONS where we have two Jackie Chan characters but here they are separated by centuries yet they are colluding due to some weird time anomaly or some shit where Jackie hits his head. Not the best of his films, natch, but still amusing for all the action and crazy setpieces and terrible CGI. If this were available on Blu I’d get it. Kim Hee-seon (the princess) is way too beautiful for a crummy DVD PQ release. Also there’s the gorgeous Mallika Sherawat who has a fun action sequence in a glue factory set in India.
