Viewing Notes

All this recent chatter about the censorship of this movie by Disney or whoever had me wanting to watch it again as it’s been some years. Ofc the Blu-ray is unavailable unless you’re willing to pay scalper prices ($200+) on eBay. So I got it from Boulder Library. I know the chase is usually the often mentioned aspect but I do love the buddy cop element and how they approach things differently. Hackman’s always been a great asshole on screen.

I did listen to Friedkin’s commentary during the chase bc I was curious what he had to say about it. He points out the scenes where they were driving 90mph during regular traffic and bc he was a “heedless young jerk” but would not do it that way now. Some good tidbits in there.
