Viewing Notes

Birthday week so watching favorites including actors. In this case it’s Michelle Yeoh in a movie I’ve been wanting to see for a long time. Hasn’t been easy to get with the DVD OOP and usually priced high. No Blu yet. But today it was on the sale shelf at my library for 2 bucks! Amazing find and the perfect present to myself.

The movie isn’t great but also this was the Dimension release which trims 10 minutes off the runtime and English dubs the dialogue (Yeoh does her own voice which is cool). Ofc it’s very watchable especially anytime Yeoh is on screen and doing nearly all of her own stunts. She has a great opening scene and a fun fight at the end.

One of the cops is Riki-Oh himself Fan Siu-Wong doing his own fighting (and sports an awesome Popeye hoodie). Dick Wei is present as one of the baddies. Michelle reads a Playboy during a stakeout and now I want that issue.

Jackie Chan and Eric Tsang have a brief scene in a jewelry store robbery. It’s kinda awful so I’m wondering if was stunt casting or contractual.
