Viewing Notes

Birthday week so watching more favorites including actors so I teed this one up for Scott Adkins. Always liked Adkins and his films I’ve seen but it’s only been recently that he’s become a favorite actor to watch.

Here he’s paired with Jesse V Johnson again. JVJ is a solid action director and those scenes are captured well but overall this movie is merely fine. I like when Adkins does a little more talkie and stretches his abilities. He’s good here as the reluctant debt collector. But the tone in this movie does not work for me. It’s a buddy comedy with some action. But it’s wants to be serious, too. Ofc this can work and does work in many HK action films but here the movie isn’t sure where to commit. So neither is particularly great. It’s watchable but one I’m more likely to Forget.
