Viewing Notes

The DKUTV Lupin marathon continues! I didn’t want to miss this one bc it’s also not available anywhere to view. Good thing too bc this “feature” is fucking wild. The animation is totally different than the TV series or other feature films. It’s more gritty and reminded me of Ninja Scroll but dirtier and more stylized. The director did REDLINE so that checks out (it too is hyper stylized and different than the standard anime).

The story is gonzo featuring an unstoppable assassin who has Jigen as his target. He creates a grave for each target before killing them bc no one lives once targeted. And this dude is a monster. That’s only half of it. Fujiko gets kidnapped, stripped naked and terrorized by a gigantic torture robot created by the assassin. It’s fucked up and borderline hentai. So fucking wild to see in a Lupin “cartoon” but these episodes* were def not created for children.

*two episodes make up the “feature” of this but I don’t know how they were released originally.
