Overview

A noble swordsman fights to recover the magical blade that has protected his country for centuries after being blinded and betrayed by a ruthless villain. A cunning killer has blinded the brave warrior chosen to defend his country with an enchanted sword, and murdered his family. After recovering, the sightless defender sets out to recover the weapon, and seek revenge against his murderous nemesis.

Shaw Brothers Sunday and babyface Jimmy Wang Yu. Got my replacement disc from Shout so fired it up. Great to see this properly after viewing it years ago on El Rey. Previous notes still stand:

“What is a mostly slow first half gets full on nuts by the second half when Jimmy Wang Yu seeks revenge on the man who stole the magic sword (and regain the sword for his fallen master). Interesting spin on the Zatoichi story (not the same story but shares a the main character trait of blindness). Tien Feng portrays a real evil son of a bitch.”
