Viewing Notes
Continuing my Fast & Furious sidequel / alt-universe viewing where everyone in the F&F universe is the same character in all the other movies (ex. Dom is Riddick is Xander etc). Here we have two F&F queens Mia and Suki as Lucy Diamond and Dominique. And every line that Devon Aoki speaks I laughed out loud (her character is French and her accent + dialogue is ridiculous).
OMG this movie is amazing and I hate myself for not watching it sooner. I’ve had a copy of this since around the time it hit dvd, too. Ugh I’m an idiot. Anyways this is so my shit and not at all what I thought this was about. Okay so maybe a little, the teen girls recruited to be badass secret agents or whatever. But it’s so much more.
Firstly the soundtrack is fire. New Order, The Donnas, The Cure, The Weekend, etc. just a banger lineup of tunes. All the women here are aces and the secret MVP is Meagan Good, who is done a little dirty here (my only grip). Jordana Fn Brewster. Good gravy. Every time she appears onscreen I’m like “godDAMN” and it’s a lot, thankfully. Just stunning. I do not understand why she did not have the biggest career.
Overall a super fun, super corny good times flick about friendship and following your feelings. and hopefully it inspired and encouraged lots of young women out there.
