Overview
By the year 2050 AD, a mysterious organization called Galactor has occupied half of the Earth and threatens to exterminate the human race. Around the same time, the International Science Organization had uncovered mysterious stones that bear unusual powers. It is said that one person out of approximately eight million is able to harness the power of the stones; they are known as a “Receptor”. Dr. Kozaburo Nambu gathers a team of these five lucky Receptors together. Known as the “Gatchaman” team, it is their mission to defeat Galactor.

Viewing Notes
Haven’t seen this since the screening at FF2013 where it was the worst movie I saw that year. I’m always willing to give a movie another chance so I decided to watch the DKU broadcast tonight. Sad to report that my original notes still stand. This is such a dull and dour take on a wonderful and fun property.
I’m all for the gritty and serious takes on these properties but this one isn’t it. I gave this a small bump bc I do like the opening sequence and evil Naomi’s costume (that Babymetal stole a few years later). Overall a disappointing movie.
