Picked this up for a buck at my library sale today bc the cast looked interesting and I had never heard of it. Crazy esp. w/this cast and before Michael B. Jordan blew up. Danny DeVito is a writer and the narrator of this story, his story about a private dick in a hotel and this odd characters and how their stories intersect. It’s not great but enjoyable for the actors involved and this stylized approach, how someone in the 2010s would have a romanticized view of this time period. Amusing to see Rufus Sewell in another similar role.
Had this been presented in black and white I may have enjoyed it more but it is a good viewing simply to see a group of attractive people delivering snappy Dashiell Hammett-esque dialogue.
