Rookie cop finds some hidden money during an apartment siege “asedio” that leads to all sorts of bad shit for our female protagonist. Film could’ve played at FF* and definitely would’ve played at Chicago IFF (and probably Denver FF). Crazy this is showing at Promenade but probably not doing well (mine was a private screening).
During the movie I thought the low ratings were from blue lives matter / pro-cop ppl then I realized they wouldn’t bother watching this movie. But when the end happens the middling ratings made more sense. I’m sure a lot off ppl were unhappy. I don’t mind that kind of ending so all of this worked for me and was pretty cool to see the journey she takes during the film.
