After my planned screening at AMC Promenade got effed up by the neglect (they didn’t check to see if the movie was playing after I told them it wasn’t), I walked into screen 11 to see this on the 4th best screen. Really nice theater.
Sadly the movie was a bore. I’m glad Burstyn got the scholarship she wanted as payment to appear; didn’t expect her to be that into it but she puts in the effort. The big mistake was to watch the original before this bc I kept thinking how everything is better in that movie.
Another thing that bugged me: how much this looks like the Halloween trilogy. Same aesthetic. Makes sense ofc bc of DGG but wow it feels like the same universe and was distracting.
