Overview
Eddie Weinbauer, a metalhead teen who is bullied at school, looks to his heavy metal superstar idol, Sammi Curr, for guidance. When Curr is killed in a hotel fire, Eddie becomes the recipient of the only copy of Curr’s unreleased album, which, when played backwards, brings Sammi back to life. As Halloween approaches, Eddie begins to realize that this isn’t only rock ‘n roll…it’s life and death.

Viewing Notes
Had to spin this up after the clock struck midnight to properly usher in Halloween. Was also curious to see the new Synapse restoration, which is why I didn’t watch my Blu-ray. Really hard to see the quality of the restoration on Screambox, bc the stream wasn’t great. Mid movie I clicked over to a new film to compare and that PQ was amazing. So the SB stream isn’t a good gauge. Will have to wait for the release and the reviews before making that purchase.
Ofc the film is great. It’s my Goonies or whatever else that ppl love that isn’t very good. But I’ll always love this dumb movie and it’s metalhead outcast wish fulfillment fantasy.
