After failing to kill stubborn survivor Laurie and taking a bullet or six from former psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis, Michael Myers has followed Laurie to the Haddonfield Memorial Hospital, where she’s been admitted for Myers’ attempt on her life. Viewing Notes

My final movie for October 2023 and one I only added in the past week to watchlist. Decided I wanted to include a “Halloween franchise” movie and knew I hadn’t seen this one in a while. Plus I owned it. I like this direct sequel a lot and it’s perfect to view right after midnight as I did since the events are taking place overnight in the morning of Nov 1.

There is some dumb stuff as usual but most of this is good with some good scares. This is basically the Jason Lives of the franchise but it happens in movie #2 and without any explanation. That’s probably my main nitpick; how does Michael survive the first round of bullets to casually walk around the neighborhood unaffected. Then gets another revolver unloaded on him at the end but gets up no problem. Like just show him wearing a vest. He’s at least that smart to put one on and it’d explain how he got up and walked away in the beginning in the movie.

Donald Pleasence is excellent but he wouldn’t sacrifice himself when he could’ve just gotten out (Michael’s blind) lit something on fire and thrown it in the room.
