Viewing Notes

My final feature for November and Moarvember Mysteries. Wanted to slide in a Thin Man flick if I had the time and I did. This one is fun for the jazz angle and how all the hipsters talk with Nick and Nora not getting it. Plus has some knockout women including Gloria Grahame, Mary Windsor and Patricia Morison (and obv Myrna Loy).

Something I love about these films is how ppl do things late into the night or early in the morning. Like here the jazz band says things don’t get going until 2am. Then there’s a sequence where Nick and Nora go out at 4am to question a suspect. Hilarious that there’s ppl walking on the sidewalks like it’s only 8pm or something.  This has to be a movie thing bc I really don’t believe people were out at 2 or 3 in the morning in the 1940s. Maybe I’m wrong but it’s hard to believe given current times.
