Overview
A man, determined to win the neighborhood’s annual Christmas decorating contest, makes a pact with an elf to help him win. However, the elf casts a spell bringing the twelve days of Christmas to life, bringing chaos to the small, unsuspecting town.

Figured I’d officially kick off my 2023 Advent Calendar with something new and since this has been advertised everywhere I’d just get it out of the way. Best I can say is I didn’t hate it. It’s way too long- 2hrs! - for this kind of movie. Had they cut it to a tight 95min it would’ve worked better.
It just drags in spots and the little humor that there is gets diluted. Not good for a comedy. The Christmas stuff is fun and they clearly spent some money on this (wish they had spent more on the screenplay). Sadly it’s not very good. Also Eddie Murphy is playing much younger here so good for him but it is strange. He has some young kids in this!
