Viewing Notes

Saw this opening weekend with my gf at the Woodfield Mall Cinemas, which closed in 2000. Probably watched this one other time in the nineties but haven’t seen since. So a Very Good Revisit.

Really fun example of a blended practical FX, composite, miniature work and on-location stunt film production. Love all the techniques on display. So hilarious that this is taking place in Colorado but mostly shot in Italy. That opening stunt between the two planes wouldn’t be done like that today but wild to see it happen. Nolan’s Dark Knight Rises owes a little to this movie.

Lithgow always makes for a great villain. Stallone and Rooker are good frenemies. Janine Turner stunning as ever.
