Instead of watching this slot in the holiday mind melter which was DANCE WITH ME (already viewed it earlier this year) I watched this Richie Jen flick bc a clip popped up on my TL today. In this Jen is a rough & tumble cop (gets warnings for being too aggressive with perps) whose son is abducted by human traffickers for organ harvesting. More melodrama than action but I’ll watch a movie where Richie Jen slaps the shit out bad dudes. The fight sequences are solid but the frenetic editing does them no favors.
This is another Chinese movie set in a fake SE Asia tropical locale like Last Suspect and Lost in the Stars. They don’t mention the name “Kuapuar City” but I’m just believe it’s the same place since all this bad shit goes down there. It’s really Hainan Island near Vietnam.
Had to view via Plex which places in a commercial break every 8 minutes and it fucking sucks.
