Viewing Notes
After viewing John Cena in the WWE produced THE MARINE I wanted to watch all the sequels. Shockingly, none are available on free streaming platforms. The DVD / BD for them are pricey. But I found a watchable copy of this second installment on YT but not ideal (looks like viewing a VHS tape on my HDTV - looked better on my phone but I didn’t want to view it on my phone). If this entire collection got a decent affordable release on Blu-ray I’d get it (I have one sequel on Blu). Also, this is an edited version w/baked in Thai subtitles so it’s short by a few minutes.
This is completely unrelated to the first movie, which I suspected. It’s not bad but kinda basic with the story and DiBiase is no John Cena. It’s funny that as soon as I heard Rooker’s voice (you hear his character speak before he’s revealed) I knew it was Rooker. Very distinct voice.
Again, another connection to a recent film viewed: Temuera Morrison is in this! Just saw him in Aquaman 2 and Hard Target 2 before that. Now he’s in Marine 2. So many 2s. Ha Roel Reiné also directed Hard Target 2 so that explains Temuera’s presence here. haha
