Overview

In Okinawa, Ayaka Kurenai was born in the world’s greatest legendary Karate family. When she was a child, her family was attacked by a mysterious gang that seeks legendary black belt. Her father Soujiro Kurenai was killed and her younger sister was taken in front of her. Time has passed. In Yokohama, she was spending her life as a normal high school girl, hiding her real name and her status as a heir of the legendary Karate family. However, one incident brought her a fateful encounter with her sister who was separated in their childhood. But, her sister was raised as a heartless killing machine by the mysterious gang who took her. .

Disappointing follow-up after the promising High Kick Girl. Director of that film wrote the screenplay for this movie that was handed to a first time director (and only time directing a feature). Big mistake. Screenplay isn’t good and the film moves at a glacial pace. No real action until 35 minutes.

Ofc the highlights are Rina Takeda and her screen sister Hina Tobimatsu. It’s unfortunate to see their talents wasted here. They are the only reason to watch this but everything else is rough going. Another film i’d like to re-edit into a much more compact and exciting movie. Also, I don’t even understand wtf the villain’s motivation is. He wants the fathers black belt bc it will help his business? So many problems with this movie. So bad that Hina didn’t make another film despite being wildly talented. :(
