Viewing Notes

Due to some conflicts and MLK holiday tomorrow we pushed our movie night to today. Kicked off with this HK crime thriller that I had never seen and was recently released by 88 Films as a 2 film set. This is a cool film that shows that grimy side of Hong Kong.

Inspired by a true story, this is one of those “one more job” crime films. From the outset when these guys come together to plan a major heist I knew things were not gonna go well. What’s nice about this story is that it allows the viewer to know the characters and become sympathetic for them even tho they are criminals. By the end you’re hoping they can somehow succeed against the odds. That entire finale is bananas and a great sequence set inside Kowloon Walled City. Very cool film.
