Viewing Notes

Neat to see babyface Iko Uwais and Yayan Ruhian tearing it up in their first feature together. Had I known that Yayan was also in this I definitely would’ve prioritized it sooner. Despite the bloat (and there’s a lot of it) this is a cool balls to the wall action thriller that often reminded me of Ong Bak.

When the action is happening this is pure fire. I’d throw this one into my re-edit bucket as well to shave off 20+ minutes and make it lean and mean. Also would eliminate that bullshit ending. That was a mistake by Evans but I’m willing to overlook it since it was his second feature.
