Viewing Notes

Delightful mess of a movie but I love the practical FX and miniature work. The story is cool and reminds me of anime films like Crusher Joe. Feels more nineties than eighties probably bc of the excellent details and cyberpunk set design.

Wish VinSyn or TV or perhaps Arrow would pick this up and give it the treatment. Def not Discotek since they don’t do shit other than throwing whatever available transfer they can get onto Blu. This movie deserves better and some nice extras and interviews to talk about making this collaboration film.

This is some wild trivia:
“Popularized by famous Canadian electro-industrial band Front Line Assembly in their award-winning music video for their 1992 hit single Mindphaser. The video consists almost entirely out of edited scenes from Gunhed, with shots of the band members playing the rebels who battle the computer, spliced in with the movie footage.”

Put that gd video on the release and interview FLA about making the video!
