When Ma Dong-seok or Ahn Ji-hye (Project Wolf Hunting) are on screen this is an 8. When it’s the goofy sci-fi story it’s a 5 or 6 at best. Saw someone compare to V and other stuff I’ve since forgot but yeah V and Resident Evil are the two things most mined for this premise (to its detriment bc we’ve seen it before).
When it’s Ma Dong-seok destroying dudes it’s fun. Ahn Ji-hye has some nice action moments but could’ve used 100 percent more of her. Too bad they were saddled with this retread story telegraphed the moment that woman with the shiteating grin shows up. How could anyone trust her (a very committed to this nonsense Jang Young-nam, who is good as expected).
I’d rather just see their adventures in the Badland fighting off pirates and bandits and whatnot. Ah well.
