Great film. Amazing to have both Writer/director Charles Burnett and actor Sy Richardson at the screening to introduce the film and do a Q&A afterwards.
Danny Glover portrays a friendly intruder that enters this family and things go awry causing conflicts. He’s really the devil in disguise in which the opening credits set this up quite nicely with the flames imposed on him before the movie begins. As soon as he is invited into this home you know something is off as if they invited Dracula inside. The hints are not subtle but the real story is how does this family deal with this guest and disruption in their lives.
