Big fan of this silly video game adaptation done in the style of V-cinema. Love that Reiko sports a sawed off shotgun that fires slugs like a .45 automatic. There’s really no point to being even remotely authentic in a post-apocalyptic zombie world.
Fun seeing two JP cinema veterans in this that would also later appear in SHIN GODZILLA: Taro Suwa (one of the scientists) and Tetsu Watanabe (the replacement prime minister).
The Blu is just the same dvd transfer and looks like shit. Ofc I’d wouldn’t expect any effort to improve it as there was likely no money for it. Speaking of no money, I wish they had the budget for decent color grading and correction; a lot of the film looks like it was dipped in muddy water esp the night / indoor scenes. So unfortunate for such a colorful video game. Those colors should pop and would improve the movie so much.
