Silly stuff where the unique premise isn’t enough to carry the movie. Needed a couple things to make it good: someone like Kensuke Sonomura to handle all the action direction and a good screenwriter to give that screenplay another pass or two to punch it up.
I knew all the festival hype and #ActionTwitter hype from last year was hollow. Just had a sense so I’m glad this popped up on Hoopla. I give a small bump for the imagery and uniqueness (reminded me a lot of R100 but nowhere near as good) but overall disappointing.
