aka Detective Dee: Demon Chonchon*
TIL they’ve made around three dozen Detective Dee films since Tsui Hark’s trilogy (2018). That’s insane. The ratings on most are not good but I haven’t seen them so who knows. This one I have seen and it fucking rocks. Same level of production value and design from Hark’s run. Totally my shit and I only wish this would get a Blu release, which it won’t. Sucks that I have to rely on it being available on streaming to view it again.
Most of the other 30+ Detective Dee films aren’t on any streaming channel that I could find. So that sucks, too.
*had to add the IMDb ID to TMDb bc all these movies are messed up in both places. Even Tubi has the wrong data info.
