Viewing Notes

Was a bit rattled after reading the news of my current favorite guitar player departing my current favorite all-female metal band (I flew to California one year ago this month to see them perform at two shows). It was on my mind all the way home from Ron’s.

Decided to throw on this movie to finish the series since Saki, the guitar player, reminds me a lot of Meiko Kaji, the star of these films. Both have a certain look and presence. Both are badasses and talented.

Amusing to learn that the director also directed Black Tight Killers, which we watched earlier. So my choice did fit our movie night after all. The final installment however is my least favorite and a bit sad / tragic in a few ways.
