Viewing Notes

aka DRUNK MASTER PART 2

Figured since I watched Drunken Master 2 last night (as Legend of the Drunken Master) I’d rewatch the first Drunken Master sequel. This one has its charm but sorely lacking the charisma of Jackie Chan. Foggy (Yuen Shun-Yi) is okay in the same role but as Sam Seed’s actual son but it’s clear why Jackie became a huge star.

Reasons to watch this: babyface Corey Yuen as Rubber Legs apprentice (he gets a fun fight with Sam Seed’s wife). And the frequent use of a sample from the Suspiria score.  When I first heard it I was like “that sounds like a giallo cue!” Close enough as it’s Goblin. so weird everytime it pops up.
